David Sherman

David has British and French citizenship.

He graduated Baccalaureat Economie at Lycée Honoré de Balzac in Paris.

He studied at the Institut Francais de Gestion – IFG Lyon and graduated in 1982.

After various positions, David became a Managing Director at Interoute Plc in Paris.

He established interconnections with international carriers (FT , C&W etc…) Team of 20 people, of which a sales team of 7 people offering B to B voice solutions.

In 1997 he co-founded Vectone Plc in London.

Vectone rapidly became the biggest calling card company in Europe, employing 400 people throughout 9 countries. David was in charge of all the international relations, negotiating agreements with carriers throughout Europe and the rest of the world for inbound and outbound voice traffic.

In 2003he became a telecom consultant, specialised in setting up direct routes to Eastern Europe (Romania , Moldova , Ukraine)  and selling the voice traffic to carriers in western Europe.

From 2006 to 2008  he established the International Gateway of the CAR, Central African Republic.

In 2006, the wholesale minute price of voice to the CAR was around 5 cents US. He convinced the authorities that this was a commodity that they should reevaluate, and so he established a Gateway for the CAR , that enabled them to raise the price to 25 cents US, and to provide desperately needed foreign currency to the country.

From 2008 to date, David has been a Telecoms consultant and has advised several African countries on optimizing their inbound voice traffic.

 His favorite hobbies are Chess (Elo 1940) and swimming.
